I was thrilled when I chanced across the Disco Shed: I had thought walking the line between cheesy floor–fillers with mass appeal, and more up–to–date music with an edge of cool would be difficult. The Disco Shed Crew pulled it off in style – cool tunes with a good dollop of fun.

They do have all the usual wedding go–to tunes, but due to a lifetime of crate–digging Paddy and Co. also have a lot of rare disco, early reggae, quality soul and if your party’s headed that way, hip–hop mash ups. Definitely in another league to the usual guff you get at weddings.

Furthermore, the Disco Shed Crew are just thoroughly nice people: they work hard to give you what you want and deliver it with a smile. On our wedding day they really went the extra mile: Paddy sorted out the Best Man’s technical issues with his presentation, and even found time to teach my nephew (aged 13) how to DJ. Priceless: the Disco Shed made the atmosphere at our wedding.

We were nervous about the booking entertainment for our wedding because we had a pretty tough audience, including our parents’ generation and a load of 20–30 something musos – so a ‘normal’ wedding DJ was absolutely out of the question. I knew Paddy from Disco Shed events and festival bookings and a mutual friend suggested we ask them to do the reception and it was absolutely brilliant: a proper DJ playing music which kept the whole crowd dancing – from the silly haircut media types to my Mum! The set was pitched perfectly at keeping the dance–floor moving and making sure everyone had a fab time... Well well well worth the money

Music’s really important to us, and the Disco Shed nailed it for our wedding – not your average cheesy hits wedding DJ, but a perfectly–judged blend of really great music that miraculously seemed to please everyone, both old and new, some familiar and some great new discoveries, ending in a massive late–night drum & bass rinse–out (not everyone’s cuppa, I admit, but we requested it) that riotously filled the floor.

In the afternoon, the garden–kitsch decorations, streams of bubbles and array of garden games brought a relaxed, fun vibe to what would otherwise have been a rather sparse lawn, and Paddy’s professional approach just made the whole thing completely stress–free. The Disco Shed massively enhanced our wedding day, and it’s hard to imagine anyone else doing it better.

Hi Paddy

Now that the Christmas and New Year’s hectic period is over, we wanted to email you to thank you so much again for the epic performance at the wedding, and the fact that you made it there at all! Everyone we've spoken to since has basically said in the same breath how much they enjoyed the party and how much they enjoyed your set – as we'd expected way back when we first met up with you it was exactly the party vibe we had in mind and even better than we could have imagined. Not a single person who was there, of every age and musical taste, has failed to say how much they enjoyed it so we wanted to say thanks so much once again!

We know that it was a massive mission to make it there and we're so grateful for the fact that you persevered despite the conditions. We would not have been surprised or blamed you if after a seven hour journey from north london in the snow you'd made the decision to give up trying, so when we were told that you'd arrived and were setting up it was the perfect wedding present for us both.

Dear Paddy,

If the internet connection in Guatemala can hold out for long enough... Al and I just wanted to say how much we loved Disco Shed at our wedding. You were really fantastic Paddy, and as you may have noticed I barely moved from the dancefloor.

Hello Harry,

I hope you are well. I am so very very sorry it has taken so long for me to write this email... We had 2 honeymoons(ish) a few weeks apart – camping in the UK & Oman... and work took me abroad with yukky project stuff so it’s been pretty busy since 19th July.

Anyhow... this email is just to say a very big enormous thank you for doing such a smashing job of DJing at our Wedding at Wasing Park on the 19th July. I have to say that you really had a tall order on your hands with Mark and I being such a picky music lovers (of slightly different eras!!). I’m not sure if you know, but we both went to see the Disco Shed team in action ion London (Count Skylarkin at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes) prior to our wedding and that certainly convinced us that you were the right guys for the job.

As for the tunes on the big day, seriously Harry you were fantastic. Our guests couldn't believe the music had to end - everyone was having such a fabulous time letting their hair down and it is all thanks to you. EVERY track was such a classic we all didn’t stop dancing (and there are photies to prove it!). Mark and I also loved the fact that you were so very kind to the kids at the event – showing them how to mix tracks etc, and generally keeping them amused – not part of your job description but you did a great job.

Finally... thanks for managing to work the very complicated slide show and play our ‘last dance’ at the end – we loved it! So... it’s all over now. But Mark and I keep on trying to think of an event where we could hire you again in the future! We’ll find some excuse if we can !!!

Sorry it’s been so long to write you a thank–you but hope it finds you suitably well. The Wedding was absolutely awesome, as near perfect and more, than we ever could have planned. I walked about a lot in awe, and really couldn’t get my head around the fact that it was my wedding – And that was just the daytime!

I’d been worrying about the music for months – about finding ways I could have the things that I wanted played, finding someone who understood, and had almost lost hope. To be honest, when I heard you were coming, I was really pleased but didn’t really know what you were going to play...

In the End...

My Father played a blinding set and then you came on and seriously took over the night... Just so perfect, better that I’d even had in my head – everything I wanted played without me even asking, exceptional mixing and you guys were entertaining and lovely afterwards. I know it’s not your normal set but you could take the Nextmen any day ( If you wanted to!)

So really, just thank you Thank you for the tunes and rockin’ my wedding, thank-you for helping me put the needles on the records ( which I was really struggling with late–on) and thanks for staying up talking shit with us on what was easily the best day of my life ( a large part thanks to you).

Such brilliant memories...

We’ll be at the Big Chill 2 weeks today and will totally be at the Disco Shed (for the first time). Please send us the times when you’re playing because a whole bunch of the wedding party want to come and see you again. We’ve got about 20–30 of us coming and as you know, it’s the place where me and Abby met!

Also, I have several people who have bought tickets for the Big Chill purely to see you again after your wedding set ( Seriously!)

I know some of this may sound OTT, but we’re so grateful and you really do deserve the praise that we've been getting from people relentlessly over the past 2 months.

Peepshow Paddy recently provided his travelling musical services at our wedding. Nothing was to much trouble for Paddy and he made useful suggestions on how we could make the music fun and interactive for our guests. Resourceful and flexible he adapted to the tone of the day and when people were ready to let their hair down he did not disappoint. A chest full of crowd pleasers was complemented by a range of alternative musical options - something for everyone. Aside from being a Villa fan Paddy is a top bloke and we could not have asked for a better DJ - top marks Paddy, thank you very much and every success.

Paddy did a superb job at our wedding, providing music during the meal and the disco afterwards. As any bride and groom will know, satisfying all the guests is a tall order and providing music for such a varied crowd is a challenge for any DJ. Paddy did us proud, providing continuous entertainment for toddlers, indy lovers, golden oldies and clubbers alike. His set was well crafted and kept our guests danced all night long. The projector he provided so that we could project some of our photos during the disco was a lovely addition.

Paddy provided the music for our wedding which was a fabulous day, not least because the dance floor was permanently full and he played music to suit everyone. My only criticism is that it was so good I danced a little too much and my feet were swollen for days afterwards. If you want your wedding to go with a swing I cannot recommend Peepshow Paddy’s services more highly!

We heard about Paddy through a mutual friend and he came with the accolade of being a ‘crowd pleaser’ so that was enough endorsement for us. Whilst I was busy prettying myself, Paddy arrived early and helped pretty up the venue. The music was so important to us so it was a huge weight off our shoulders to have someone trustworthy and reliable on hand.

He was given our ideal playlist beforehand and played a brilliant balance of our favourite tunes and tracks to get the party started – after all, too much Radiohead and The Smiths at a wedding will need to be balanced accordingly! Everyone had a great time and the dance floor was busy from the off.

We had a Christmas wedding and we’re now we’re now looking forward to planning our anniversary parties. We hope Paddy will agree to play for us again.
