   Today might be apparently the most depressing day of the year, but our spirits were lifted this morning by the postman delivering the February issue of British Vogue. Inside, they feature their ‘Dream Wedding’, which has Disco Wed as their wedding DJs! Result!! “From the people behind the brilliant “Disco Shed” comes this spin-off wedding DJ service. Perfect for cool couples seeking a credible alternative to cheesy wedding DJ cliches, they rock receptions as expertly as they do huge festivals and club nights.”

2. New Year thank you from Disco Wed wedding DJs

   Happy New Year everyone! As we leave 2013 behind us we thought we’d look back on what was an incredible, busy year for Disco Wed and our super wedding DJs. Here are some of the reasons why we’ve been neglecting our blog over the past few months! During a truly chock-a-block 2013, we entertained literally thousands of people at: 15 Disco Shed club nights (and countless others organised by our team of DJs) 12 private parties 8 festivals on 1 TV programme 158 weddings or civil ceremonies Those weddings took place at: 135 venues And were played by: 19 brilliant Disco Wed DJs (there’s even more at the festivals and club nights!)  Our different booking options were used the following number of times: Disco Shed – 12 Indoor Shed – 52 DJ only set-up – 114 The following number of people were kind enough to take time to send us:...

• Disco Wed Dos and Don’ts

  DO!

  • Mix cool, credible party music that the couple and their guests want to hear.
  • Use a first class, industry standard set-up which sounds great.
  • Make sure everything looks neat and tidy, including ourselves!
  • Have technical prowess and mixing ability.
  • Be friendly, relaxed, polite and fun.

   

  DON’T!

  • Talk over all the songs and make bad jokes all night.
  • Play songs in a random order with big gaps between them.
  • Leer at or be rude to the guests.
  • Use horrible tacky lighting and an awful sound system.
  • Play anything with a dance routine*
