London’s Chigwell Hall Disco Wed Wedding DJ
Leave a CommentI met Emily and her Mum at the Chigwell Hall wedding fayre in the spring, which took place in their enormous marquee outside the hall. After a good chat in which we explained our services, Emily left to have a look around the rest of the show, before returning a few minutes later and pretty much booked our wedding DJ only option there and then! She’d been considering booking a band to play during the afternoon so was particularly pleased to hear we offered to play music all day as part of the service!
Emily and her partner David sent a brief playlist of tunes over before the wedding, which showed off their indie leanings – which I looked forward to playing, being something of an indie kid at heart myself – along with with some more crooner-y classics for the daytime. On the day itself, I arrived well before the guests arrived, then left their daytime playlist playing whilst the ate and I popped outside to take in the spectacular views of the city. The venue is owned by the Metropolitan Police Force and doubles as their sports and social club – the grounds are really impressive!
David and Emily couldn’t wait to get the evening party started, and even kicked things off early with their first dance! This meant quite a long night was in store, five and a half hours, but I was impressed by the guests stamina as they partied for the duration – the dancefloor was never empty! It made sense to build to an indie sing-a-long crescendo, with David’s favourite tune, Don’t Look Back Into The Sun by the Libertines being a particular highlight.
Later that night, Jason joined me again, as we had another wedding fayre booked in for the following day – lending the night a nice bit of symmetry! And I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was grateful for the help packing up…
Testimonial
“Just a note to thank you for your excellent services. It was above and beyond what we expected and great value for money. To be honest I thought it might be too slanted towards the youngsters for my taste, but not at all, guests of all ages danced all evening and had a great time! Many commented on the music. I would recommend you to others without hesitation.”
