2013 ended on a high for Disco Wed’s super wedding DJ Jason, as he provided the entertainment at the marriage of Ben and Emily on December 22nd at Wick Farm, near Bath.

A true shedonist romance, as the pair had met by chance at a Disco Shed club night in Southampton some years back after Ben spotted the listing in a magazine and remembered dancing til dawn in front of the Shed at the Big Chill in 2008. They were blown away that they could bring the Shed to their wedding and booked the Indoor Shed option immediately.

Jason picks up the story. Arriving early, I sat in the downstairs bar just as the main course was going out. The couple welcomed me in and very generously offered me an amazing plateful of perfectly cooked beef and fresh vegetables, served up by the very attentive and professional staff, but could hardly eat it as guest after guest wanted to come through, shake my hand and tell me brilliant stories of their festival moments dancing at the Shed. Brilliant!

The first dance choice was Gwen McCrae with her version of ‘Signed, Sealed,Delivered’ followed by Frank Wilson with ‘Do I Love You’. After that in was on with stacks more Soul, Funk, Ska and Disco stretching all the way through to Krafty Kuts, Young MC, Major Lazer and beyond. What a brilliant night! A whole festival at the Shed condensed in to a 3 hour set!

It was really quite an honour to have played such a big role in these two brilliant people getting together in the first place, and even more of an honour to be able to help them celebrate their marriage with such a brilliant party!

What a great end to a great year!
