Welcome to our wedding blog. We’ll be adding new blog posts all the time about previous weddings we’ve played at, containing photos, playlists and plenty of other stuff so you’ll get an idea of how we work, and what we can bring to your day.
We hope you’ll find lots of inspiration for your wedding day, from venue ideas, maybe some music and first dance suggestions, to which of our options might work best for you.
Please keep checking back as we aim to update this pretty regularly!
New for 2019, our great looking handmade wedding Disco DJ stand! Our new Disco Wed DJ stand. Here at Disco Wed, we’ve always aimed to avoid all the usual, terrible wedding DJ stereotypes – from naff cheesy music, terrible mixing, even worse mic chat, and also, terrible looking mobile disco set-ups. Our Disco Shed and Indoor Disco Shed have always been completely unique to us, and have been doing a great job of bringing shedonism to wedding couples for nearly a decade now. However, whilst our Disco Wed DJ option always did a fairly good job of avoiding any awful star cloth type wedding DJ tackiness, it was still based on a fairly standard DJ stand which aged badly given the amount of use they get here. So, we felt it needed an overhaul to really represent what Disco Wed is about – providing super-cool, completely unique, first class DJ services....

At home I’m lucky enough to be able to listen to my vinyl collection on my Dad’s beautiful old Thorens record deck, which he gave me a decade or so ago, and a pretty rare Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 800 stereo receiver from the early 70s, which I found when I worked at a household recycling centre (the dump!) for 3 days after getting home from 18 months travelling in 2002, and remarkably still seemed to work perfectly and sound amazing. It didn’t cost a penny for amazing, beautiful, vintage hi-fi sound, and super cool looks too, and my wife and I love playing music and introducing records at home to our young children. This is a pic from last Christmas, hence the advent tree! Anyway, above the hi-fi we have a small shelf on which to display some of the beautiful artwork from the record sleeves. I mean to...
Yes indeed – the news you’ve been waiting for! We have finally launched our wedding DJ services on Instagram! Stop the clocks, ring your Mum and tweet your pals to mark this moment! Ok, so we’re not great at the whole social media thing, let’s put that down to being busy with DJing at weddings, festivals and our club nights too, and over the last four years having children to look after too! It’s a surprisingly hard life being a wedding DJ! But we’ve always enjoyed browsing the wedding blogs and fully appreciate what a great resource they are for couples seeking inspiration for their big day, this goes for Instagram too. The quality of most of the wedding photographers we work with is rarely anything other than properly brilliant these days too, and their stunning images of fantastic looking weddings light up the internet. However, weirdly, the quality...
Today might be apparently the most depressing day of the year, but our spirits were lifted this morning by the postman delivering the February issue of British Vogue. Inside, they feature their ‘Dream Wedding’, which has Disco Wed as their wedding DJs! Result!! “From the people behind the brilliant “Disco Shed” comes this spin-off wedding DJ service. Perfect for cool couples seeking a credible alternative to cheesy wedding DJ cliches, they rock receptions as expertly as they do huge festivals and club nights.”
Just a short note to say a huge thank you for DJing at our wedding. It was amazing! We felt so lucky to have you guiding the party so expertly! You were brilliant, you set up without us even noticing and then played a whole night of tunes that... more >
